Unit History of the 37th AEG
Activated in 1969, the 37th Medical Service Squadron moved from Homestead AFB to MacDill AFB. Gained by the Tactical Air Command (TAC), the unit was assigned to the 446th Tactical Airlift Wing (TAW), Ellington AFB, Texas. In 1972 the unit was reassigned to the 459th Tactical Airlift Wing, Andrews AFB, Maryland. In 1973, the unit was assigned to the Eastern Air Force Region, Dobbins AFB, Georgia. In 1974 the Military Airlift Command (MAC) gained the unit and renamed it the 37th Aeromedical Evacuation Group (37AEG). Reassigned in 1975 to 14th Air Force (Reserve), Dobbins AFB, Georgia. In 1976 the Group became a geographically separated unit (GSU) of the 94th Tactical Airlift Wing, Dobbins AFB, Georgia. On 1 October 1994 the 37th AEG was renamed the 610th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron (AES).
622nd Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron
622nd AES
On 1 April 1997 the unit was renamed the 622nd AES.
45th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron
45th AES
The 622nd AES eventually became the 45th AES and its parent wing is the 927th Air Refueling Wing
